Introduction

Scaffolding refers to various supports erected at the construction site for workers to operate and resolve vertical and horizontal transport. A term commonly used in construction sites for use on external walls, interior decoration, or higher floors where direct construction is not possible. It is mainly for the construction personnel up and down or peripheral safety net maintenance and high-altitude installation of components, to put it plainly is to build shelves.The manufacturing materials of scaffolding are usually: bamboo, wood, steel pipe or composite materials and so on. Scaffolding is widely used in advertising, municipalities, roads, bridges, mines and other sectors.

Tower connection form and application:

1 Falsework bracket-used to support falsework, a frame made of scaffold material.
2 Scaffolding with single row- a scaffold with only one row of standing poles and one end of the horizontal bar on the wall.

Classification

It can be divided into building scaffolding and installation scaffolding by construction nature.

It can be categorized by cover area:
  1. Open: scaffolding with operating layer railings and footboards only, without other shielding facilities.
  2. Fully enclosed: a fully enclosed scaffold with full length and full height along the outside of the scaffold.
  3. Semi-enclosed: cover area of 30 to 70% of the scaffolding.
  4. Partial closure: cover area less than 30%.
Features:

Different types of engineering construction use scaffolding and falsework support with different use. Most of bridge supports use bowl-buttoned scaffolding, and some use door scaffolding. Most of the scaffolding used in the main structure construction are fastener scaffolding, the longitudinal distance of the scaffold stand is generally 1.2 ~ 1.8 m, and the transverse distance is 0.9 ~ 1.5 m.

Compared with the general structure, the working conditions of scaffolding are as follows:
  1. the load variability is higher;
  2. The connection node of fastener is semi-rigid, and the rigidity of the joint is related to the quality of fastener and the quality of installation, so the variation of the joint performance is great .
Points to be Paid Attention for Safety
  1. In erecting the high-rise scaffolding, all materials used must meet the quality requirements.
  2. The foundation of the high-rise scaffold must be firm. Before it is erected, it must be calculated to meet the load requirement and drainage requirement, and to be operated as per the construction standard.
  3. The requirements for erection of scaffold shall be in accordance with relevant specifications
  4. Great importance must be attached to various structural measures: scissors support and pull joints should be set according to the requirements.
  5. Horizontal closure: from the first step, every other step or two step, full foot board or foot hand fence, foot board should be laid along the long direction, the joints should be overlapped on the small bar, and be noted that short end board is strictly prohibited. And between the pole and the wall every four steps, a long safety bottom bar should be laid.
  6. Vertical closure: from the second step to the fifth step, each step should be provided with 1.00m high protective rail and foot plate or a net, the guard rod (net) and the upright rod should be fastened firmly; In the fifth step or above, except fortification bar, safety fence or safety net should be set up; in the street or residential area, safety fence or safety net should be installed on the outside from the second step.
  7. Scaffold should be erected 1.5 m above the top of the building or operating surface, and be enclosed.
  8. Steel tubes, fasteners, foot panels and joints on scaffolding shall not be removed at will. If necessary, it must be approved by the person in charge of the construction site and effective measures must be taken to resume the process immediately after the completion of the process.
  9. The scaffold shall be inspected and accepted by the person in charge of the construction site before it is used. In the process of construction, professional management, inspection and maintenance should be carried out, and settlement observation should be carried out regularly, and reinforcement measures should be taken in time to find the anomalies.
  10. When the scaffold is removed, the connection with the building shall be checked first, and the remaining materials and sundries on the scaffold shall be cleared up, from top to bottom. The removed material should be uniformly passed down or lifted to the ground, one step at a time. Do not disassemble with stepping, and never use the methods of throwing down or pushing (pulling).
  11. When scaffolding is removed, an alert area shall be set up and a special guard shall be sent. In the event of strong winds above grade 6 and the bad weather, scaffolding should be stopped.
  12. For the foundation requirements, when the foundation is uneven, please use the Adjustable foot base to achieve balance. The foundation must be capable of withstanding scaffolding and working pressure.
  13. Safety belts must be worn in staff when building and working at high altitude. Safety nets should be installed around the work area to prevent heavy objects from falling and injuring others.
  14. The components and accessories of the scaffold are strictly prohibited to fall and collide in the course of transportation and storage. When lapping, disassembling and assembling, it is strictly prohibited to drop them from a high place, and to operate it in order of top to bottom when disassembling.
  15. Playing on the shelf is strictly forbidden in the process of usage to prevent any accidents.
  16. Bear in mind that work is important, but safety and life are more important.
Techniques
  1. Regardless of the type of scaffolding, the materials and processing quality of the scaffolding must meet the prescribed requirements.To prevent accidents, it is absolutely prohibited to use unqualified materials to set up scaffolding .
  2. The general scaffolding must be set up according to the safety technical operation rules of scaffolding. For high-rise scaffolding with height more than 15m, there must be design, calculation, detailed drawing, set-up plan, examination and approval by the person in charge of upper-level technology. There should be written security technical to be submitted before it can be set up.
  3. For dangerous and special shelf, it also must be designed and set up separate safety technical measures for approval before it is built.
  4. After accepting the task, the construction team must organize all personnel, conscientiously grasp the organizational design and technical measures for the special safety construction of scaffolding, discuss the setting-up method, and assign good technology. Experienced technicians should be sent to take charge of the guidance and monitoring.
