Steel highway guardrail can be divided into corrugated steel guardrail, square tube guardrail and steel wire rope guardrail in China. And people can also see other types of highway guardrail such as concrete guardrail, roller guardrail and some new innovation for highway steel guardrail in some area. In addition, according to surface treatment, it can be divided into galvanized steel guardrails and galvanizing plus plastic spray steel highway guardrail.

Four types and two classes of steel guard rail is provided follows:
Types:
1.Zinc coated, 550g/m2 minimum single-spot.
2.Zinc coated, 1100g/m2 minimum single-spot.
3.Beam of painting.
4.Beam of corrosion resistant steel.
Classes:
Class A: Base metal nominal thickness-2.67 mm.
Class B: Base metal nominal thickness-3.43 mm.
Guard Rails Materials:
A 307, Standard Specification for Carbon Steel Bolts and Studs, 60000 psi Tensile Strength.
A 653 / A 653M, Standard Specification for Steel Sheet, Zinc-Coated (Galvanized) or Zinc-Iron Alloy-Coated (Galvannealed) by the Hot-Dip Process.
F 376, Standard Specification for Carbon and Alloy Steel Externally Threaded Metric Fasteners.
